Local entrepreneurs and partners Adam Smith, Adam Benigni and Jimmy Stephenson have launched Beach Bugz, a new company offering brand new, street legal, low-emission golf carts for rental to residents and visitors of Naples and Marco Island.
Unlike regular golf carts, Beach Bugz low speed vehicles (LSV) can safely operate day or night on approved public roads with a posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour or less. With seating for up to six people, each cart comes equipped with seatbelts, rearview mirror, windshield, brake lights and headlights, as well as beach parking permits. All of the carts have storage capacity for items such as beach chairs, umbrellas, toys and coolers.
Daily and weekly rentals are available, priced at $100 per day, $275 per weekend (three days) or $475 for the week—not including sales tax and gasoline. Beach Bugz offers no-hassle pick up and delivery. Individuals must have a valid driver’s license to rent and/or operate the carts.
The LSVs are ideal for locals and visitors alike, as they provide both the opportunity to sightsee and visit favorite spots such as local eateries and attractions, shopping areas and, of course, the beach. With Beach Bugz, families don’t have to worry about loading and unloading all the beach equipment each day, or getting their car wet and sandy. Additionally, the carts offer an affordable alternative for wedding parties and event rentals.
“Carts are a great option in beach communities because of their convenience and seemingly endless possibilities for use,” said Smith. “We had seen cart rentals in other seaside towns we had visited, but nothing like it in our area. It seemed logical to bring Beach Bugz to Southwest Florida.”
